The 110th Anniversary of Australian Red Cross in Muswellbrook was much more than just a coffee and cake celebration; it united our community and offered a meaningful opportunity for knowledge sharing and reflection.
When Val and Barbara from Muswellbrook Red Cross visited our office, seeking guidance on navigating a virtual world as an offline local organisation, we felt a strong obligation to support them.
As always, we turned to our network for assistance, and the response was nothing short of overwhelming.
With the help of generous sponsorships and various forms of support, we engaged several businesses and hosted a very special celebratory morning tea. The event highlighted the strong bonds within our town and many local community-centric services.
We reminisced about the past, shared our hopes for the future, and took time to listen, learn, and embrace the spirit of camaraderie.
Afterward, we gathered the flowers, balloons, and chocolate brownies and delivered them to Muswellbrook icon Pam King at the hospital, since she was unable to join the celebrations. The visit reaffirmed the importance of cherishing everything that makes our community special.
“This is exactly why I love living in Muswellbrook,” Pam said, and we couldn’t agree more.
It’s vital to remember and value organisations like this in our community. We know that looking after one another goes a long way in creating and cementing relationships that will last a lifetime.
This event also provided the perfect opportunity to introduce newcomer Natalie from Pretty Bangin’ Balloons to Pam, giving her a firsthand experience of what it truly means to be part of a regional community – our community.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this opportunity possible. To MACH Energy Mount Pleasant Operation and GIO – Muswellbrook for sponsorship, Hunter Valley Printing for the custom coffee cup stickers, Nat for the balloons, Roger Skinner for the photos, and POLLY & CO for the flowers, catering, and transforming The Green Room into a special place to celebrate a moment in time that many of us will cherish forever – community collaboration at its finest.
Thank you, Red Cross.
